I know I post a lot of tilapia recipes, but this is definitely one of my favorites! It’s easy, healthy, and SO GOOD! I’ll definitely be making this one again.
What I enjoyed most about this fish is the crispy, salty coating made from crushed up french fried onions. It gives the taste and somewhat the texture of eating fried fish, but without all the frying oil (and all the calories that come along with it). I also really loved the zip of lemon you get in each bite. I honestly didn’t think that I would be able to taste that little bit of lemon zest once all of it was put together and cooked, but I was so wrong! The citrus flavor really added a lot.
And on top of being some of the best fish I’ve ever cooked, it’s also a Weight Watchers recipe! So go ahead and enjoy this pseudo-fried fish without feeling guilty. And then reward yourself with an extra serving of dessert

Seriously, though, recipe looks great.
Thanks Rachel!
Tilapia looks tasty! I like the simplicity of the recipe
Thanks! Don’t you just love delicious recipes that are so easy too?!
Yes! My favorite
When I see recipes with long ingredients list, I start to zone lol.
I cook dinner for my family every Tuesday night, and about 90% of my recipes come from your blog! Even my sister, who is-no joke- the pickiest eater in the world eats most of the stuff I cook from here. Seriously, she refuses to eat any fruits or veggies, and this blog has given me so many ideas for healthy foods to fill in the gaps. I’m making this fish tomorrow night. Can i use egg instead of egg substitute?
Thank you so much Anne Louise! This comment just brightened my day! I’m so glad you’re able to find family-friendly meals on my site. And yes, regular egg should do just fine in this recipe. I think 1/2 c is about 2 eggs. Thanks again!
Thank you very much! By the way it was my dad that showed me this blog. I think he was either your leader or sent your team to Africa on the Visiting Orphans trip. Frank?
Oh cool! Yeah Frank was our trip coordinator. Well that just makes me feel like the blogosphere world got a little bit more cozy. Hope you and your family are doing well!
doing great and thanks again for the help and the great recipes!
